Inspection and acceptance

Inspection should be tied to the machine and process risk. It may include visual inspection, maintenance-record review, powered checks, dry cycling, utility checks, leak tests, calibration evidence, sample processing, or a defined factory-acceptance test. The purchase agreement should state the accepted condition and the remedy if the machine does not meet it.

A meaningful comparison includes purchase, refurbishment, tooling, missing parts, deinstallation, packing, freight, insurance, duties, rigging, utilities, facility modifications, installation, calibration, qualification, training, initial spares, and production ramp.
