From the quartz stone to the silicon wafer.
JRST is India's deep-tech, end-to-end silicon partner. We learned the whole chain the hard way — on the ground in China — and brought it home to build it in India.
Deep roots, earned on the factory floor.
JRST wasn't built from a textbook. It was built by living the silicon chain — stone by stone, plant by plant — until we understood every step well enough to build it ourselves.
It started with a stone
Years ago our people were exporting quartz stone to China. Some loads were prized, some rejected — and the price China paid for an ordinary-looking mineral was the mystery that pulled us in.
We went deep — on the ground
To understand why a stone performs or fails, the team went to China and stayed. On the road across more than half the country, into remote provinces outsiders rarely reach, learning the chain hands-on across 500+ factories, sand plants, crucible and polysilicon makers, and stone-testing labs.
Stone to wafer — including the hard one
From quartz to high-purity sand, to crucibles and polysilicon, up to the mono-crystal grower, the ingot and the wafer — including semiconductor grade, the difficult side. We leased and ran a plant in China for about three years and shipped semiconductor-grade ingots to Korea.
We brought it home
As India's Semiconductor Mission and the ALMM push took off, we came home to build. Few believed an Indian team held this know-how — so we set out to prove it.
First-of-their-kind, on Indian soil
Maharashtra's first silicon-ingot pilot (SIT) and Pondicherry's first high-purity quartz-sand plant (SST) — each delivered turnkey, then part-owned by us. Our clients, and our proof of concept.
A full stack, from Nagpur
From our Nagpur headquarters, JRST runs the whole stack — turnkey plants, equipment and refurbished machinery, consumables and spares, O&M, sourcing and consulting — for solar and semiconductor makers across India.
The crucible and the sand are the technology.
Everyone calls the ingot or the wafer the hard part. The truth starts earlier: without ultra-high-purity quartz sand there is no crucible — and without the crucible, no ingot, no chip, no modern technology. That upstream is exactly where we went deepest. India has the stone; we've learned how to turn it into the sand — so the chain can begin, and stay, here.
End-to-end, across solar & semiconductor.
One partner from the mine to the module — the plants, the machines, the materials and the know-how that silicon manufacturing runs on.
Recognised, and on the ground.
The team behind the technology.
A founder team that each learned a different piece of the chain — led on the technology by our CTO, backed by a plant-floor VP of crystal growth, and advised by specialists in mining, critical minerals and trade.
Founders

Taiyeb Tahir Ali
Taiyeb was the first of the team to go to China and decode the quartz-stone story — why one stone is prized and another rejected. He leads JRST's commercial strategy, industrial partnerships and end-to-end project development, carrying a mandate from the raw mineral all the way to a commissioned plant.

Harsh Maloo
Based in China for over a decade and fluent in local, rural Mandarin, Harsh opened the deep-village supplier network outsiders rarely reach — the real makers behind the silicon chain, not the city-facing middlemen. He drives JRST's sourcing, cross-border execution, supplier coordination and value-focused equipment strategy.

Mohammed Saif Zaveri
Saif runs the business engine — numbers, market sizing, competitive positioning, marketing and partnerships. He turns the team's hands-on deep-tech into a commercial model clients and investors can back, and builds the relationships that fund and scale JRST across silicon, semiconductor, solar and advanced manufacturing.
Leadership

Ahmed Ali Taherali
Ahmed is the technologist behind JRST's plant builds — the machines man. He learned the ingot–wafer craft hands-on: the mono-crystal growers and pullers, the metallurgy, the hot zone and the day-to-day plant operations, taking the technical courses and putting them straight to work on the floor. He ran a mono-crystal plant for roughly three years, then led the commissioning of Maharashtra's first silicon-ingot plant end-to-end — specifying, installing and bringing the lines to production with an all-Indian team and no foreign support. A background in science underpins the technology and execution behind every line JRST builds.

Balasubramanian Parameswaran
A silicon-industry veteran with three decades across the entire value chain — crystal growing, ingot grinding and shaping, wafer slicing, cleaning and polishing, and quality control — in both monocrystalline and polycrystalline technologies for semiconductor and PV. He has prepared and run ingot–wafer projects up to 1 GW, erected and commissioned polysilicon reactors, and led plant teams across India, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and China. At JRST he validates every technical blueprint and anchors the plant-floor credibility behind our promises. B.Sc. Physics, University of Madras.
Advisors

Sharata Kumar Naik
A geologist and mining executive with over 30 years across precious metals, base metals, energy metals such as lithium and cobalt, diamonds and critical minerals, spanning Asia, Europe and Africa. Currently Group Head – Mining & Metal Business in Lagos, he has held senior roles including Group COO at RioZim and COO & Country Head at Samta Mines & Minerals across Zimbabwe, Morocco and the DRC. He advises JRST on the mineral and raw-material side of the chain, from quartz to feedstock. M.Tech, IIT Roorkee and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

Mohammed Asif Rangoonwala
A mining professional with over 30 years' experience and a family legacy of more than 80 years in the industry. Holding a Diploma and a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, he has led operations across iron ore, dolomite and quartz and managed seven leasehold mines, and is a Life Member of the Mining Engineers' Association of India. He advises JRST on the quartz and raw-material upstream — the feedstock on which the whole silicon chain depends.

Anjireddy Amireddy
A civil engineer and former Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Chennai — Air Cargo Complex and Sea Customs), with deep command of investigation, audit, customs valuation, FEMA, FTA / DGFT schemes and licences, CAROTAR rules, and the import of machinery including used equipment. He also holds and operates a quartz mine in Kanigiri, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. He advises JRST on imports, trade compliance and the quartz upstream.
